This route is relatively easy to master except one steep climb out of the Rurtal along the nature reserve Buntsandsteinfelsen. Most of the time the route runs along the banks of the Rur. Parking lots are available at the train station in Nideggen-Brück and Abenden and in the center of Nideggen.
